Ms. Shishkin represents clients through negotiation, mediation and litigation, as well as at administrative hearings. She handles all aspects of representation, from the initial consultation to the final settlement agreement. Having worked with hundreds of clients who have faced a recent job loss, harassment, or another form of unlawful treatment at work, Ms. Shishkin has developed a sensitive, constructive and nuanced approach that makes her a valued advisor and a strong advocate for the clients who hire Rabner Allcorn Baumgart & Ben-Asher.
Helping Avoid Employment Disputes
Ms. Shishkin also is an effective counselor to clients who seek to avoid employment law claims and disputes before they arise. She counsels new and perspective employees who are looking for expert advice on employment contracts, including assistance with drafting terms that best protect their interests. In addition, she represents employees who want to be proactive and informed about their legal rights in managing a workplace problem.
Representing Employees Through Litigation
Ms. Shishkin represents clients in litigation in state and federal courts, as well as before state and federal agencies, including the New Jersey and New York Department of Labor (DOL), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights (DCR). In recent years, she has assisted many individuals in administrative proceedings relating to unemployment compensation benefits, unpaid wages and overtime claims.
Ms. Shishkin is admitted to the bar in New Jersey and New York. Prior to joining Rabner Allcorn Baumgart & Ben-Asher, she was an associate at both The Nirenberg Law Firm and Resnick & Nirenberg, P.C., where she also exclusively practiced employment law.
Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Shishkin was a Deborah Poritz Public Interest Legal Fellow and worked at the Legal Services of New Jersey (LSNJ), the leading legal aid organization in the State of New Jersey. In that capacity, Ms. Shishkin worked on cutting-edge issues in employment law, wrote legal briefs and conducted policy research in support of LSNJ’s mission to advance the interests of underprivileged employees.
Ms. Shishkin gained hands-on experience in mediating employment discrimination claims as a member of Rutgers Constitutional Litigation Clinic. She represented employees in the dispute resolution process established by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Ms. Shishkin is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA), the National Employment Lawyers Association of New Jersey (NELA-NJ) and the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce. She is a frequent contributor to The New Jersey Employment Law Blog, writing articles on a variety of employment law topics. Ms. Shishkin is fluent in Russian and represents many Russian-speaking clients.
