Our New Jersey discrimination lawyers represent employees who live and work in Hackensack, and throughout New Jersey and New York who have experienced issues related to their employment, including those who have been victims of unlawful discrimination at work. We represent all levels of employees, including Corporate Chief Executive Officers and Presidents, middle level managers, support staff and laborers. We truly mean it when we say we are dedicated to enforcing employee rights.
The New Jersey Law Against Discrimination ("LAD") prohibits discrimination based on age, gender, pregnancy, race, color, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, religion, marital status and military status. That means it prohibits companies from treating employees worse because of their membership in one of those legally protected categories. Thus, for example, it is unlawful for a company to fire, demote or harass an employee because of his or her age, race, gender or another legally protected status.
The LAD also prohibits companies from retaliating against an employee because he or she complained about unlawful discrimination in the workplace. For instance, it would be illegal for your company to fire you because you complained to your supervisor or the human resources department about disability discrimination or sexual harassment.
Our attorneys represent employees who have experienced workplace discrimination through negotiations and litigation in both state and federal court. We also frequently handle employment law appeals, and have participated in numerous precedent-setting cases. To learn more, please call us at (973) 744-4000.Information About Hackensack
