About ParamusLocated in Bergen County, New Jersey, the Borough of Paramus was incorporated in 1922. Its name comes from the word “peramsepuss,” which is the Lenni Lenape Indians word for “land of the wild turkeys.” As of the most recent census, Paramus had over 26,000 residents.
